For the release of canna country number nine by country number 30
Where the Canna country number nine and Canna country 30 are similar is their lime green color and potent, rich flavored buds. The CC9 smells like red vine licorice or jolly rancher with black pepper and gas. She’s highest in the terpene myrcene with limonene and beta caryophyllene too. She’s made up of gas-heavy ancestors like Sour D, OG Kush, and a Local Skunk selection.
The CC30 smells of forest floor funk and lemons with a heavy gas from the SFV OG Kush, her mother. In the hunt for the CC30, many of the sisters were harsh in the smoke and definitely full of limonene. The one that earned the distinction Canna Country 30 smoked the smoothest and had the most funk to its smell. It turned out that funk is because of the terpene a-pinene, which the Canna Country 30 is highest in, often followed by limonene and b-pinene.
They are both in the later finishing half of the current Canna Country Farm lineup. Where they differ most is in their growth habit. The CC30 grows upright with really big leaves and fingers, whereas the CC9 grows more like a globe and makes the densest flowers on the farm. The CC30 grows long colas and the CC9 has a pine cone/golf ball structure They’re both usually a brilliant bright green with the CC30 expressing some purple potential on the leaves late into maturity and when cold.
We had high hopes that the marriage would bring out the gassy and lime green from their ancestors. We’ve done enough trials now to see that it was a great combination. They have all been very frosty with lime green color and nice long window of resilience With aromas ranging from the candy, black pepper of the CC9 to that pinene lemon funk of the CC30. The ones in the middle, and the longer they flower, the more gassy skunk develops, much like the OG and SD family. We used the CC30 as a donor again after being very pleased by his performance in most crosses. He brings a wonderful form brilliant, lime, green, and supremely frosty flower and that aroma flavor complex to most every blend so far.
