A flavor-first cross built around two intensely expressive parents, combining the award-winning Purple Candy Canewith a Grapefruit male selected for an unmistakably loud, straight-grapefruit terpene profile.
Purple Candy Cane has proven itself on some of the biggest stages in cannabis, taking 2nd Place at the 2015 Emerald Cup and 3rd Place at the 2016 Emerald Cup during an era when judges were working through hundreds of flower entries. What helped it rise to the top was its unmistakable flavor and experience.
Purple Candy Cane brings a complex mix of orange, guava, pine, grapefruit, sweet candy, juniper, and sage, while the Grapefruit male pushes the citrus side even further. Expect selections ranging from sweet citrus and grapefruit candy to orange, tropical fruit, pine, earthy sour notes, and more herbal expressions.
This is another cross where flavor is the main event, but Purple Candy Cane also brings considerably more punch than some of the old-school purple lines. It typically produces a powerful, uplifting cerebral effect that earned it the nickname “Storyteller” — the kind of flower that gets people talking, laughing, and suddenly telling stories.
Both sides of the cross are proven outdoor performers, with Purple Candy Cane in particular showing excellent resilience. That should make this a strong candidate for outdoor cultivation and selections with good mold resistance.
While these genetics were bred and selected outdoors, they shouldn't be viewed as outdoor-only. The parents have also performed well indoors, and the relatively compact structure of Purple Candy Cane and Grapefruit should translate well to indoor production without excessive stretch.
