SoHum Seeds Bio

Founded by the legendary Lawrence Ringo, SoHum Seeds has been at the forefront of pioneering CBD genetics and sustainable, organic cannabis cultivation for over 35 years in Southern Humboldt, California. Known as the "King of CBD," Ringo's contributions have left an indelible mark on the cannabis community, creating some of the most iconic and medicinal cultivars ever seen.

Lawrence Ringo's passion for cannabis began in 2010 when he started the Southern Humboldt Seed Collective. Through rigorous testing, he discovered high CBD levels in his genetics, leading to the creation of strains like Sour Tsunami, Harle-Tsu, Canna-Tsu, Swiss-Tsu, and ACDC. These strains have become renowned for their CBD dominance and therapeutic benefits.

In addition to his groundbreaking work in cannabis, Lawrence had a deep love for music, inspired by his grandmother Hazel. Known locally as the "Guitar Monster," he performed at Reggae on the River in 2006 and left a lasting impact with his rock and roll and classical compositions.

Lawrence's dedication to organic, sustainable agriculture and his generosity within the cannabis community earned him widespread respect. He collaborated with organizations such as HuMMAP, Tea House Collective, and Lost Coast Botanicals to provide CBD medicine and support small farmers. His work illuminated the varied effects of the full spectrum of cannabinoids, depending on their ratios.

Although Lawrence Ringo passed away in 2014 after a battle with cancer, his legacy lives on through SoHum Seeds. Revitalized at its original location in Whitethorn, Humboldt County, SoHum Seeds continues to thrive with the blessing of the Ringo family. Under the partnership led by Jerry Savage of Savage Farms and the expertise of HENDRX, the seed production and nursery have been restored. The first order of business was creating Ringo’s Gift S1 Feminized seeds, now available at Tangled Roots.

SoHum Seeds has expanded its portfolio beyond CBD varieties to include exceptional THC-dominant cultivars from partners at Savage Farms and HENDRX. These include Purple Rose, Tahoe Venom OG, and quick-flowering varieties of clone-only legends like Gelonade, Glazed Apricot Gelato, and Sour D.
